Prayer for April 29th, 2025
Good morning, Father-God —thank you!
Your Word cautions against excessive talk, idle chatter, or gossip. When there are many words, transgression is present. It is sin and lack of wisdom. The Bible emphasizes the importance of listening and reflecting before speaking. Because our words profoundly impact us and others. We should be mindful of what we say and avoid unnecessary small talk by giving too much information about ourselves —petty things that no one cares to know. That siphons energy. Holy Spirit, please let me not be small-minded but edify people and talk about inspiring things, not myself. Spread the good news about Jesus by telling of your amazing gift and act in love and charity —this is how we shine!* Acts of kindness through Jesus. Amen.
19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
13 He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
