Prayer for September 15th, 2024
Good morning, God —thank you!
Jesus is the true vine, and you are the vinedresser. We believers are branches that grow from the vine. A branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine; apart from it, it can do nothing, so you take it away. But when we flourish, you prune us so that we will bear more. We are already clean because we abide in you, and you in us. I desire to grow from you and your Word. Holy Spirit, take all worldly things or thoughts from me. I surrender all to you, though, Jesus! Amen.
35 And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.
36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
15 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
