Prayer for January 20th,2026
Good day, God—thank You!
Jesus explained to his disciples the two greatest commands: to love you/the Lord with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love others as ourselves. All the laws and prophets depend on those two things. Love is the core of faith and action, a radical shift from rule-keeping to relationship-focused living. These commands form the foundation of Christian ethics, showing that love for you overflows into love for others, and one cannot truly exist without the other, demanding deep, internal transformation, not just external behavior. Thank you for helping me to understand that. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
