Prayer for December 18th, 2024

Good morning, God —thank you for another day!!

We, believers, point our fingers by condemning others for their lies, deceitfulness, drinking too much, staying up late, teasing men by dressing sexy, etc., but conveniently forgetting about our wrongdoing. Forgetting, men are also responsible for their lustfulness too. Let’s spot the sinner when we are no different —they shouldn’t do this or that. Well, nor should we. We judge sinners for sinning different sins than we do, or may do too, which keeps us apart when we should build bridges for unity. We are all stumbling to find our way. Let me see the good in everyone, God, and embrace the truth that we’re all imperfect. Imperfections are where we find our greatest strength to connect with you. To learn and grow together. Please, help me avoid gossip or the temptation to think my sin is smaller or better than another’s. Some sins are more significant than others —such as blasphemy against the Spirit, sins against the gospel vs. law, adultery, and premeditated murder, but minor sins are not. However, all sins are equally guilty and worthy of your wrath, with different punishments depending on its severity. Therefore, I/we must leave the judgment up to you, or we are sinning again, too. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Romans 8:1

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Matthew 5:28

28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Psalm 127:2

It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

Luke 6:37

37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

James 4:12

12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?

James 4:17

17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
