Prayer for May 2nd’  2022

Good Monday morning, God —thank you! 🙂

Often I provide a helping hand or give, not loan money; never expecting anything in return by listening to you, God. I “give with a glad heart!” But the world is filled with people who see goodwill, take, and never appreciate it. So much so that it becomes harmful to both me and the receiver. I give in hope to help others get ahead or enjoy a blessing from you, not so that they will take advantage. Some will use guilt tactics as to why I’m not forever generous to them, forgetting about everything I’ve done. From trying to make me feel shame for not sharing to questioning whether I am that nice person, they thought I was. They will attempt to lay on the guilt about all the rewards I have reaped lately, mostly from my husband’s hard work —adults with grown children, not my immediate family. Then, feeling entitled to it, they’ll blame me for being tightfisted with our money. Holy Spirit, please help me not be fooled by this kind of trickery of anyone who preys upon my sympathy. You always prompt me when to do good deeds, and I obey you. Thank you, Father! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

2 Corinthians 9:7

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Proverbs 13:4

The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

Colossians 3:23

23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
