Good morning, God —thank you!! 😊

You know how often I’ve wanted to slap myself for talking too much or not bridling my tongue after it was too late. Gracious sakes! Your Word says, “life and death are in the power of the tongue,” please help me think before I speak and not just let words flow from my mouth. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Pastor Greg Laurie said the following, is it:

T        truthful? —I think more like fruitful

H       helpful?

 I        inspiring?

 N      necessary?

 K       kind?

That is an excellent way to look at it, especially since you are all about loving others and exuding grace to those who hear.

Matthew 12:36-37

36 But I say unto you, That every idle Word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

James 3:8

But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Proverbs 18:21

21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Ephesians 4:29

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
