Daily Prayer for October 24th, 2021

Good Sunday morning, God—thank you!

I wasn’t a perfect mother, Father, but I taught my daughter how she should go, raising her in the discipline and instruction of you. I took her to church Sundays and youth groups on Wednesdays, talked about you continually. We said grace before a meal with thanksgiving and our bedtime prayers. But that’s not always enough. She has free will to make her own choices and decide what she chooses to believe. So, please God, let her never part from you or stray away from faith—she or her children. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Proverbs 22:6

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Deuteronomy 5:16

16 Honour thy father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

Ezekiel 16:44

44 Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.

2 Timothy 1:5

When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

Proverbs 10:12

12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
