Daily Prayer for October 23rd, 2021
Good morning, God—thank you!
Thank you especially for your Son, Jesus, who died on the cross for my/our sins. Let me not doubt whether I’m sinning or not because then I am sinning. Whatever is not of faith is sin. I hate sin because I love you, being a new creation in you. But I will sin again, unintentionally because I’m human. Therefore, I forget the old rules and regulations and press on to your high calling in Christ Jesus. Through all pagan holidays, I celebrate you. —not the trees decorated with silver and gold, gifts, or Santa and his reindeer. They are just fairy tales. Like the tooth fairy and Easter bunny, too —especially not the evil characters who succumb to darkness on Halloween. As for me, through it all, I keep focusing on celebrating you, one and only God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
