Daily Prayer for October 18th, 2021

Good morning, God—thank you!!

For my sake and, of course, yours, Holy Spirit, please help me be completely devoted to you. I cannot serve you and the way of the world. So let me meditate on you, God, day and night, without any distractions. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Psalm 119:15

15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.

Matthew 6:24-34

24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

1 Corinthians 7:35

35 And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
